HELPING PEOPLE CHANGE TO THE RIGHT MEDICARE PLAN TO FIT THEIR LIFESTYE
How Medicare Works Overview
Part A Hospital and Inpatient
Part A $500 month premium If you didn’t pay into Medicare, if you did then $0 monthly
Part B Doctors
Part B $164 monthly premium as of 2023, unless someone is on ALTCS
Original Medicare (Red White and Blue card) is 80/20 plan. You’re responsible for the 20% Medicare doesn’t cover.
There are 2 options to cover this:
Option 1 - Medicare Part C / Medicare Advantage Plan
  • (usually includes Part D). Generally, $0 - $40 monthly premium Turing the 20% cost share into copayments for service.
  • Medicare Advantage is a Medicare plan.  Insurance companies’ contract with Medicare to offer these plans, they include everything Part A and B offers plus more benefits.
  • Since they are offered through insurance companies, they can include other types of coverage. Dental, vision, hearing, chiro, acupuncture, food cards, credit to CVS OTC, gym memberships etc.
  • Both HMO and PPO plans are available
Option 2 Medicare Supplement Plan or Medigap
  • Supplement plans are straight insurance and are not Medicare plans, you pay a monthly premium to have this plan.
  • These plans are underwritten for both age and health,
  • Average premium is $120 at 65 and goes up every year (age 80 average $300). With this option you will need a Part D drug plan, average price of $33
  • If you want dental vision and hearing insurance, there is an extra cost for that
